In Ancestor map, when you mouse over a name on the list, the associated birthplace pin on the map turns red. Why not also have the deathplace pin change color, so you know which places are associated with that person; then also have it work in reverse (mouse over pin, name on right highlights).

Safari is very buggy with this site. Firefox not as much. But really, what is the worst is the create a timeline section. I can't specify points on the map in relation to the event, and if I add the event out of order, though the event date is accurate, it doesn't plot the date correctly rendering the whole feature pointless.

It is important that you are clear about what license people are giving out. In your TOC you state that it's under the CC PD license; this should be made explicit (in small text) on all content pages.

Please add marriage dates/places to the ancestor map. The popup could give the spouses name for best user experience.

Why not puting event from the past, but also of the future and navigate on it ....

Tried to create an account and I got the really useful error message "For some reason, your information could not be recorded." - Well, come on tell us more. How about "our servers are down please try later" or "as you are not browsing from a North American location you are not permitted to use this site" or "your password is too long" or "please contact the support desk" or something else that is informative.

You need to preserve the state of the timeline and the map, and return me to my most recent view.

When I am looking at my ancestors map, and I change the date and zoom in on the map, and then click on a famous person, and then close that window, it always takes me back to the default view. But I want it to return me to the time and place that I was exploring.

On ancestor map, legend gets limited to two items (birth/death), leaving the user not knowing what the red and orange items indicate--get the full legend to display.

When you pick a spot on the sliding timeline, a year appears to the right. Why not show the range rather than just a single year (e.g., 1792-1822, not just 1822)?

Have the pin on the time line have brackets each side of it to indicate the range actually covered on the map, like: |____pin____|

ther could be a little thing wer people could put up a picture of somthing they found entresting and this site could could see if they could find any entresting details about that object.
