highlight birth place pins
In Ancestor map, when you mouse over a name on the list, the associated birthplace pin on the map turns red. Why not also have the deathplace pin change color, so you know which places are associated with that person; then also have it work in reverse (mouse over pin, name on right highlights).
Makes a lot of sense. Will work on this.

Safari is very buggy with this site. Firefox not as much. But really, what is the worst is the create a timeline section. I can't specify points on the map in relation to the event, and if I add the event out of order, though the event date is accurate, it doesn't plot the date correctly rende... more

are clearer about what license submitted materials are under
It is important that you are clear about what license people are giving out. In your TOC you state that it's under the CC PD license; this should be made explicit (in small text) on all content pages.

Add marriage pins to ancestor map
Please add marriage dates/places to the ancestor map. The popup could give the spouses name for best user experience.

Ancestor Timeline view improvements
On ancestor map, legend gets limited to two items (birth/death), leaving the user not knowing what the red and orange items indicate--get the full legend to display.

make navigating on my ancestors map easier
You need to preserve the state of the timeline and the map, and return me to my most recent view.
When I am looking at my ancestors map, and I change the date and zoom in on the map, and then click on a famous person, and then close that window, it always takes me back to the default view. But ... more

Translate the site in other languages
Translate the site, at least the main buttons and areas, into other languages so everyone around the world can read/use it.

allow coordinates to be entered when mapping something.

WORLD history?
this is not WORLD history. decent for what IS there, but what about africa...etc.?? content is very eurocentric. make it actually WORLD history and it could definitely rock.
